Fort Santiago Rizal park

Fort Santiago is one of Manila’s most important historical sites, located inside Intramuros, the old walled city.

Built by the Spanish in the late 16th century as a defensive fortress.
José was imprisoned here before his execution in 1896. His final footsteps and memorial are major attractions.
The fort contains historic chambers and dungeons associated with the Spanish and Japanese occupations.
Large stone walls, gates, gardens, and historic ruins make it excellent for walking and photography.
Good combination: Visit Fort Santiago → walk around Intramuros → Rizal Park → National Museum in one day.
